Introducing the BitGo Mobile App

We’re excited to announce the launch of the BitGo mobile app. We know many of our customers require multiple approvals for transferring funds or adding users, and those sometimes need to be done in a timely fashion. With our new app, you can handle those requests at a moment’s notice — even when you’re not in front of your computer.
Available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Approve requests faster
With our new mobile experience, BitGo customers can manage policy requests — like transferring funds or adding new users — while on-the-go. This is particularly useful for time-sensitive items, and saves you from needing to jump in front of a desktop.
Please note, however, that video verifications will still need to be done on desktop for the time being.
Greater visibility
In addition to approving items, you can check out the status and background of a given request process — who submitted it, when each step occurred, and who needs to take the next action. That lets you keep your business moving forward without needing to triangulate who already did what.
Safety first
To safeguard your account, the mobile app intentionally limits you to approving or rejecting requests. You cannot initiate new requests from the mobile app. Moreover, you must go through two-factor authentication to both log-in and approve any transfer of funds.
Note, too, that your permissions on the mobile app will exactly match those on the desktop experience.
Information at your fingertips
The mobile app also lets you check market performance, track your coin watchlist, and peruse the latest crypto news.
Some users will also see their overall portfolio balance, along with charts showing performance over time. (Access to this feature depends on your account-level settings. Talk to your BitGo representative to learn more).

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this be available on both iOS and Android?
Yes, the BitGo mobile app will be available on both iOS and Android.
How do I download it and link my account?
First, download it from the app store. Then, log-in to your BitGo account.
In order to complete log-in, you’ll need to do two-factor authentication using any time-based one-time password. We recommend the Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, or Microsoft Authenticator apps.
If you do not have two-factor authentication already set-up for BitGo, you will need to add that using desktop first.
How do I know this is safe?
To protect your account, the app limits you to viewing and approving requests; no one with access to your phone can initiate a transaction or create/edit a policy. Also, in order to log-in to the BitGo mobile app in the first place, you must go through two-factor authentication.
How does two-factor authentication (2FA) work on this app?
You will be asked for 2FA approval whenever you attempt to: 1) log-in or 2) approve a request.
Please note that we only support Google Authenticator for 2FA at the moment. We plan to support YubiKey in the future, as well.
Can I use a password manager for the app?
Yes, you can use a password manager (like LastPass or 1Password) to manage your BitGo login password and wallet password.
For best results, you may wish to set-up your password manager on your phone first before using the BitGo mobile app. That way, you’ll be able to handle repeated logins more smoothly.

Will I be able to move funds?
You can only approve/reject the transfer of funds (assuming you have the correct permissions), not actually initiate them.
Will I be able to trade?
No. At present, users will not be able to trade via the mobile app.
How will my permissions work compared to the web version?
Your permissions will match the web version exactly.
Can a new user onboard via mobile?
No, new users must onboard and complete the KYC process on the web version.
What languages is the app available in?
The BitGo mobile app is available in English only.
What will I be able to see in the Portfolio portion of the app?
Depending on the enterprise-level settings in your account, the Portfolio portion of the app will either show:
-
Your overall portfolio balance, your per-coin balance across all wallets, and your coin watchlist
-
Your coin watchlist only
The setting that controls this (when toggled on) lets each owner and user in your enterprise to view the balance of each and every one of the enterprise’s wallets. Some customers, however, prefer to keep this setting toggled off. Those enterprises will only see the coin watchlist when they view the Portfolio section of the mobile app.
To learn more about this setting and to turn it on (if desired), please reach out to your BitGo representative and ask about the “view all wallets” setting.
Note that in either case, you will not see the balance of individual wallets in the mobile app. You will either see the combined balance (and your coin watchlist), or only your watchlist.
